The organization is designed to support, assist, and encourage Latina\o (Latinx) faculty and staff at UNT which include:

  • Promoting and ensuring representation, ÚNeTe welcomes all UNT faculty and staff to join our organization. 
  • Promoting interdisciplinary collaboration for research and publications on Latinx issues. 
  • Supporting and helping promote Latinx Mexican American Studies Program (LMAS) and similar academic programs.
  • Recognizing, promoting and publicizing professional achievements and cultural events supporting diversity. 
  • Advocating for the resolution of equity and equality issues that affect the Latinx population at UNT. 
  • Supporting HSI recruitment and retention efforts when requested of ÚNeTe related to faculty, staff, and students. 
  • Increasing the visibility of our members at UNT by working with community organizations. 
  • Supporting student organizations on campus who seek our assistance.
