Recommendations and Resources
Some faculty groups, including professional and URM faculty, identified some areas
of concern including salaries, professional development opportunities, and infrastructure
to support growing teaching loads. The Steering Committee recommends:
- Discussions between UNT administration and the Professional Faculty Resource Group
to focus on professional faculty concerns and to identify action plans.
- Increase support for professional development and encourage participation by URM and
professional faculty.
- Faculty can review UNT's commitment and work to date on ensuring equitable salary reviews and adjustments .
- Develop mechanisms to assign value to the unrecognized workload that falls on URM
faculty. Faculty Success and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences will feature
Dr. KerryAnn O'Meara, professor of higher education at the University of Maryland
at College Park, to hold two workshops in the 2022-2023 academic year on workload
equity and faculty evaluation equity.
- A resource that supports the well-being of UNT faculty and staff is the Employee Assistance Program.
