Two faculty members talking at New Faculty Orientation

UNT is home to a thriving community of scholars, educators, researchers, artists, and innovators working at the forefront of their fields to change the world and prepare the leaders of tomorrow. The Faculty Success team is dedicated to supporting faculty members at every stage of their UNT career, starting with a thoughtfully curated New Faculty Orientation each fall and spring semester.

New Faculty Orientation

New Faculty Orientation is designed to equip new full-time faculty with the tools and information they need for a smooth transition into our university, as well as provide opportunities to meet new colleagues and get to know campus leaders.

What topics are covered at orientation?

New Faculty Orientation introduces new full-time faculty to the UNT leadership team, helps familiarize new faculty with campus resources, provides an overview of employee benefits programs, and presents tips for a successful first semester and career at UNT.

How do I enroll for benefits, purchase parking permits, process the I-9 form, and enroll for direct deposit?

Soon after accepting the offer of employment, new faculty will receive an email from the Office of the Provost providing specific directions for processing your I-9 form, enrolling in direct deposit, selecting benefit and retirement options, purchasing your parking permit, and more. You can find more information on UNT System Connect, the UNT System intranet.*

*A valid @unt.edu email address is required to access the intranet.

I couldn't attend the scheduled New Faculty Orientation. What should I do?
We strongly encourage individuals who cannot attend New Faculty Orientation to attend our makeup session. Please email faculty.success@unt.edu to register your attendance. You also are welcome to attend the next New Faculty Orientation!
