Career Development Grants support UNT faculty in all their professional development activities, including but not limited to:

  • Conference and workshop participation
  • Performances
  • Creative activities
  • Access to archives
  • Participation in external laboratories or research teams
  • Travel expense for co-presenting with a mentor at a professional conference
  • Coaching services for skills such as research, career advancement, or teaching development
  • Visiting the lab of a researcher at another institution
  • Improving teaching effectiveness through external mentorship
  • Bringing a mentor from another institution to campus for a presentation or workshop

Please note that Conference Support Grants previously offered by Faculty Success are still available through this Career Development Grants program.   

Career Development Grants are open to all ranks of professional and tenure-track faculty, and both individuals and teams are welcome to apply. Individual full-time faculty members may apply for up to $2,000, while teams of 2–6 full-time faculty may apply for grants of up to $4,000.

Grants will be evaluated based on their overall quality, feasibility, impact, and alignment with the Look North: UNT 2030 strategic plan which emphasizes developing student potential, discovering new insights and solutions, and driving impact through partnerships that expand educational, cultural, and economic opportunities.
