Mentoring Groups

The UNT Faculty Mentoring Program encourages colleges and departments to form mentoring groups to provide additional sources of mentoring for faculty, including new faculty of all ranks, Assistant Professors, Professional Faculty, and mid-career faculty. Faculty Success suggests that groups meet at least once per semester and clearly articulate their goals and audience. Departments or colleges with many new faculty may want to form a monthly mentoring group led by a few senior faculty to help new faculty acclimate to UNT and to reduce the service load of individual mentors. In forming groups, colleges should be particularly mindful of the ongoing need to improve faculty mentoring for Professional Faculty and mid-career faculty at UNT.
