Mentoring is a vital component of a successful academic career. At UNT, we are committed to a culture of mentoring excellence in all areas that impact faculty life. The opportunity for faculty to build a network of mentors is foundational to our success and supports our strong commitment to diversity. UNT's mentoring plan incorporates the following touchpoints: UNT's Mentoring Grant Program provides support for full-time faculty across all ranks. Faculty can apply for individual ($1,500) or team grants (up to $5,000) to help gain institutional knowledge, support their teaching, and research efforts, to develop professional networks and promote diversity. Previous mentoring team grants have supported La Colectiva, the Black Women's Initiative, African American Academic Couples Mentorship Exchange, LGBTQ, Coping with Otherness (Foreign-Born Faculty), among many others.
