Rosie's Tips for Student Success
What is your favorite place or thing to do on campus? Why?
My favorite place on campus is the observation deck on the fourth floor of the UNT Union. There are tables and chairs and a beautiful view of the clock tower. Weather permitting, it is a wonderful place to eat lunch with friends, or study.
What advice do you have for students who are undecided in their major?
In deciding a major, I think it is wise to devote equal amount of time discovering who you are as a person. What are your likes/dislikes, strengths/weaknesses, and what work environments work well with your personality? This type of information is valuable when you are choosing your major, and later in life. Have patience with your process, and of course, reach out to Advising Services for help when you need it!
What advice do you have for prospective UNT students?
When entering a university campus it can seem daunting and overwhelming. I encourage you to find a lifeline either with a staff member, fellow student, or faculty. UNT Advising Services can be that lifeline for you! We can point you in the right direction. Once on campus, get plugged in and participate. UNT is a wonderful university with so much to offer, but you must be proactive in your environment. Be courageous, be bold, and do your very best to connect to others on campus.
What is the number one resource you recommend to students who are exploring majors?
Check out the UNT Career Center! The Career Center has some great resources, workshops and programs that can be very helpful. If you know what career you are interested in it can make it a bit easier to choose the path towards your goal.
