Prospective Student Advising
The Office of Advising Services offers advising appointments and drop-ins sessions
for prospective undergraduate UNT students. These appointments are designed to get
you started on your academic pathway here at UNT. Our academic counselors can help
you:
- Explore UNT undergraduate majors
- Learn about academic success resources, important academic deadlines, etc.
- Determine which major(s) best utilize your completed coursework
*All new UNT students must attend New Student Orientation. Prospective advisors cannot advise you into classes or waive your new student orientation requirement.
*OAS Prospective student advising is only offered for undergraduate students. Graduate students should direct questions to their program of interest.
Unofficial Core Credit Evaluations
To see how your credits will transfer into the UNT Core, please email your unofficial
transcripts to untadvising@unt.edu. **Please allow a minimum of 5 to 10 business days for evaluations.
All evaluations completed by the Office of Advising Services are UNOFFICIAL and may
change once officially evaluated by your academic department after you have been admitted
into UNT.
NOTE: Beginning December 1, the Office of Advising Services can no longer provide unofficial evaluations for students admitted or applying for the Spring 2025 semester. Please refer to the UNT degree audit for your official, in-progress credit evaluation. Final evaluations will be available for all new students when they attend their new student orientation.
- If you have over 90 credit hours or credit from several 4-year institutions, we recommend scheduling an advising appointment with a UNT advisor in your prospective academic college.
