The Early Career Faculty Learning Community (ECFLC) is a supportive network designed to foster the success of new and early career faculty at the University of North Texas.

· New faculty are defined as those within the first three years of their initial faculty appointment.

· Early career faculty includes those who have not yet achieved their first promotion or are approaching the midpoint of their academic career.

This learning community offers a welcoming space for faculty to connect, collaborate, and grow—both personally and professionally.

Tuesday Talon Tidbits

Join us the first Tuesday of every month from 2:00–3:30 p.m. for our monthly Early Career Faculty Learning Community gathering: Tuesday Talon Tidbits, hosted by Faculty Success.

Each session features “tidbits” of practical information tailored to the unique needs of early career faculty. Topics include:

  • Orientation to Campus Resources
  • Time and Project Management Strategies
  • Developing a Supportive Mentorship Network
  • Navigating the Research Journey
  • Building your Professional Digital Presence
  • Supporting Mental Wellbeing of Faculty & Students
  • Teaching Development & Effectiveness
  • Working with Graduate Students

Equally important, these gatherings offer a space to pause, connect with colleagues, and engage in a vibrant, supportive academic community. Meetings are held in Bruce D250 and light refreshments are provided.
