
As part of UNT's commitment to shared governance, the Office of the Provost has convened
faculty- and staff-led councils to advise on institutional initiatives and other issues
critical to UNT's academic community.
Council charges include but are not limited to:
- Setting academic priorities and helping to shape the university’s academic strategy and goals.
- Coordinating across colleges and schools to ensure different academic units are working toward shared priorities.
- Discussing and faculty matters such as workload, promotion and tenure, career development, and academic policy.
- Providing guidance on academic resource allocation and overseeing UNT's centers and institutes.
- Addressing high-level academic issues, including accreditation, curriculum, research priorities, and student success.
- Advising the provost and the president on university-wide decisions, providing diverse perspectives and advocating for faculty
and staff interests.
