After careful consideration, the MARTIAL Eagles program will be taking a hiatus for the upcoming academic year (2024-2025).
This hiatus period will be used to make valuable enhancements to the program to ensure we continue to meet the needs of our students, while adhering to state and federal law as a state institution.
The UNT Motivated Alliance for a Rigorous, Transformative and Interdisciplinary Approach to Learning (MARTIAL) is a living learning community of incoming freshmen who share an interest in pursuing academic success while at the University of North Texas. The MARTIAL Eagle program is designed to assist students with building a strong academic foundation from which to launch into various leadership opportunities while at UNT.
LIVE TOGETHER. During your first year, build a tightly knit, scholarly community in Rawlins Hall, one of UNT's newest and most popular residence halls. Second year MARTIAL Eagles have an exclusive opportunity to remain on campus while living in Honors Hall.
LEARN TOGETHER. Enroll with other MARTIAL Eagles in a freshman seminar elective designed to enhance academic skills and to introduce you to the variety of academic support and other resources on campus. Students will engage in workshops centered on various strategies to enhance academic performance, learn more about the resources available at UNT, and participate in lively discussions. Students may also enroll in paired core coursework, when applicable.
LEAD TOGETHER. Develop a solid academic foundation as you prepare to launch into various leadership opportunities across campus. Selected MARTIAL Eagles may have the opportunity to complete a leadership workshop introducing the Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership as presented in the best-selling book The Leadership Challenge.

Every year, we celebrate academic progress made by our students. While we were unable to gather in person, the pandemic did not stop us from recognizing the milestones achieved by MARTIAL Eagles. We are proud of all of our students for pushing through as they move into sophomore, junior, and senior classifications. Next stop...GRADUATION!
