Boost Academic Resources

BOOST Scholars must utilize at least two academic support services to complete BOOST program requirements and continue building strong academic habits throughout the semester. Students may choose from any of the following BOOST academic support options and are encouraged to use these resources regularly to support their academic success.

UNT's Braven Career Accelerator is a 3-credit hour course designed to build career skills and prepare students for the job market and beyond. Students enrolled and actively engaged in UNIV 2300 will satisfy BOOST requirements in full without an additional service required. Additional participation in program is required to qualify for Learn-to-Earn Opportunities.

*Active engagement involves completing coursework according to deadlines and attendance/participation.

BOOST works hand in hand with advising offices on campus. If your advising office requires workshops or participation in an academic recovery program specific to your college, this too can qualify for BOOST requirements. Workshops/programs are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Please contact BOOST staff for what programs qualify.

Communication, Media, and Performance Recovery Outreach (CLASS Advising)	If you are one of these majors, your advisors have reached out to you about this program. To meet their requirements, you will meet with your advisor 3 times throughout the semester. Completing all 3 of these meetings will count as one BOOST requirement. EDGE Program (CLASS Advising)	CLASS students on Academic Alert after Fall 2026 grades are required to complete a workshop (EDGE groups) at the beginning of the Spring 2027 semester in addition to being advised for Summer/Fall 2027 classes. STS: Soaring to Success (COE Advising)	Students with an academic major GPA below a 2.75 (for Education majors) or below a 2.50 (for Human Development and Family Science majors) will be required to meet with an advisor twice per semester.
