Resources for Student Surveys
Anonymous surveys of students in your programs can provide valuable input as you examine your curricula and instructional practices. It is recommended that any such survey be conducted at the program or department level, rather than at the course or instructor level. Though there are advantages of the latter, the purpose of this exercise is not to evaluate individual instructors.
Below, we provide some questions your program may wish to consider asking of students. These are divided into two blocks: those that the faculty group advising this process particularly recommends, and other questions that may suit your program needs (instead or in addition).
A helpful resource in survey administration is Qualtrics (available to you through the myUNT portal). The questions below have been added to a Qualtrics survey. If you wish to edit the survey and adapt it for your own use, please contact Michael McPherson (Michael.McPherson@unt.edu) and he will share it with you. Departments will need to administer and manage their own survey efforts and the resulting data.
