Students can demonstrate college readiness through a list of approved exemptions.
A student who successfully completes a college preparatory course is exempt for a period of twenty-four (24) months from the date of high school graduation with respect to the content area of the course. The student must enroll in the student's first college-level course in the exempted content area in the student's first year of enrollment in an institution of higher education.
Depending on what college-level course(s) you have already successfully completed, you may be exempt from taking the TSI Assessment in one or more areas. A TSI Coordinator will evaluate your COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY transcript(s) to determine if the courses you have successfully completed will qualify.
Straighterline and ALEKS are not accepted for TSI purposes.
**IMPORTANT: We may not have all of your transcripts on file - even if you sent them to the Admissions Office, so please send additional copies directly to the Office of Advising Services.**
You are exempt in all areas if you hold a domestic associate or baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Provide a copy of your transcript indicating degree was conferred.
Please provide a copy of DD-214.
Often, if you attended a previous college/university that has already determined you TSI complete, your transcripts from that previous institution may indicate that status.
Copy of transcript documenting approve test scores or college readiness needed.
If you believe that you qualify for an exemption, you must provide documentation that provides an exemption from taking the TSI Assessment. All documentation should be sent directly to the Office of Advising Services by
If you are unable to provide proof of exemption, you are required to submit TSIA 2.0 scores. Learn about your testing options here.
