Course guidelines for Early Starters are as follows:
- Must be enrolled in classes that end by 3:00 pm Monday - Friday as the program activities start at 4:00 pm each day.
- In-person classes are preferred.
Besides attending and preparing for your course(s), Early Starters are expected to attend daily gatherings with the entire Early Start cohort, as well as one additional small group meeting. The schedule for these is as follows:

Class(es) | Monday - Thursday | 8:00 am - 2:00 pm | Most Summer classes will be 8:00 am - 10:00 am or 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Early starters are required to be done with classes by 3:00 pm each day. |
Lunch | Monday - Thursday | 11:00 - 12:00 pm | Gather in the dining hall for lunch. |
Downtime | Monday - Thursday | 2:00 - 4:00 pm | Use this time to relax or get a head start on homework. |
Study Hall | Sunday - Thursday | 4:00 - 6:00 pm | Early Starters will use this time to study, do homework, and utilize campus resources for academic success. |
Dinner | Sunday - Thursday | 6:00 - 7:00 pm | Dinner will be held in a dining hall on campus. |
Small-Group Meeting | Sunday - Thursday | Flexible, to be determined | The time for this will be set by you and your group based on schedules. |
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THESE MEETINGS.
As you can see, to participate fully in the Early Start program, you will not be able to work during this program. You will meet with program staff, mentors, and other Early Starters each week of the 5-week program. All of this is intended to set you up for academic success and get a head start on your undergraduate experience. If you have questions, please communicate with the program staff.
