What is a prerequisite?

A prerequisite is a course or other preparation that must be completed before enrollment in another course. All prerequisites are included in catalog course descriptions.

How do I review my Fall schedule?

Students can review their Fall schedule in a variety of ways. One way is through their MyUNT Portal.

Instructions: Log into your MyUNT Portal > click on the Enrollment Tile > click on View My Classes/Schedule tab.

How do I find a prerequisite course?

Students can find their prerequisite courses by looking at the degree/major requirements in the UNT Catalog.

Select majors, minors, certificates

Instructions: Click on your major> click on a class > you will be able view required prerequisites listed under “Prerequisite(s).”

If you cannot find the prerequisites for your major, please contact your major advising office for more information. 

How do I drop/swap a class?

Students who do not meet the prerequisites for a course they enrolled in for Fall 2024 will be dropped from the course at noon on Thursday, August 15th.

How do I reach out to an advisor?

If you followed the instructions above and are still unsure whether you meet the prerequisites for a Fall course, please reach out to your Academic Advisor for verification.
