One-on-One Mentoring

One-on-one Mentoring pairs all new full time faculty members (tenure and non-tenure track) with a departmental mentor. Throughout the year, resources such as a mentoring handbook and tips regarding best practices for one-on-one mentors are provided by the Office for Faculty Success to ensure a successful and productive relationship. With the help of the department chair, mentees hand-pick their mentors to ensure the relationship is mutually agreed upon. Department chairs should inform the Office for Faculty Success of the pairing within a month of the new faculty member's start date. All new full time faculty hired at the rank of assistant professor, lecturer, clinical assistant professor, and librarian are expected to choose a mentor.
