Chief of Police, Ed Reynolds, UNT Police, Campus shot

Statistically you are not likely to encounter an active shooter on campus but should the improbable happen, your students may look to you for life saving measures. At the UNT Police Department we provide proactive training to give you preparedness skills for many emergency situations. One of these, our free Active Shooter Response training, is available to you and your class upon request. Our team uses FEMA’s (Federal Emergency Management Agency) Run/Hide/Fight training to give you the tools to respond quickly. We also review statistical data, talk through scenarios you might encounter, and give you an idea of what to expect from law enforcement arriving to the scene.

If you are interested in the police department’s Active Shooter Response training email Sgt. Kevin Crawford at kevin.crawford@unt.edu or Ofc. David Causey at david.causey@unt.edu. Be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter (@UNTPolice) for other tips and notifications of training classes.
