Team-Based Learning (TBL) is an evidence-based teaching strategy that encourages students to actively engage with the material as they apply it in a variety of contexts. It has been found to increase student retention and can be used in all disciplines. The all-day workshop on Friday, February 7 will be led by Team-Based Learning Collaborative Trainer-Consultant Bruce Leonard, Ph.D and will address two important challenges faculty face when implementing active learning and/or TBL. The first half of the workshop will demonstrate how to implement TBL in a fully-online course. The second half will demonstrate and discuss effective ways to facilitate discussions within the classroom, something that is important for both in-person and online courses. For those who attended our workshop last year, these sessions offer new opportunities to expand your knowledge of TBL. The afternoon session is also 1 of the 5 workshops needed to complete the TBL Knowledge of Fundamentals Certificate. Lunch will be provided and registration is required.
