1st Speaker Introduction – Dr. Maureen McGuiness

Topic: Dean of Students Office – Programs & Services  

Intro: Dr. Maureen McGuinness, or “Moe,” is the Dean of Students/ Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs in the Division of Student Affairs. Moe has been at UNT for 24 years and has been the Dean of Students since 2011. Moe got her start a few decades ago as a work-study student in the Dean of Students office at John Carroll University, and it was always her dream (in her adult life) to be a Dean of Students.

2nd Speaker Introduction – Dr. Karen Weiller

Topic: The Academic Integrity Perspective

Intro: Dr. Karen Weiller, Associate Professor and Academic Integrity Officer, has been in this role for about ten years.  She is a faculty member and Associate Department Chair in Kinesiology, Health Promotion, and Recreation.

3rd Speaker Introduction  - Dr. Elizabeth Oldmixon

Topic: It Is Not About You (No PowerPoint Provided)

Intro: Elizabeth Oldmixon is a Professor of Political Science and a Faculty Director in the Office of Faculty Success. Her disciplinary specialty is religion and legislative politics, but she has published several articles on the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Elizabeth is the winner of the 2019 President’s Council Teaching Award.

4th Speaker Introduction – Sergeant John DeLong

Topic: UNT Police “Handling Disruptive Persons”

Intro: Sergeant John DeLong is with the University of North Texas Police Department. He has been with the UNT Police Department for 12 years and has 17 years of law enforcement experience. In providing Police Services, he supervises all the UNT Police Public Safety Officers (Security) at UNT Discovery Park and UNT CVAD Building. He oversees the operational needs at UNT Frisco.

5th Speaker Introduction – Ashley Olsberg

Topic: Classroom Support

Intro: Ashley Olsberg is the Director of DSI Tech. She has been at UNT for about ten years and began working as a student technician in the department she now manages.  She enjoys working with faculty, staff, and students helping design and deploy technology solutions to learning spaces throughout the years.
