Building Burnout Resistance – Faculty Talk

Join Zoom Meeting

Faculty have to juggle campus initiatives, an ever-changing student body, and continuous progressions being made in academia. They also have to navigate factors that influence the university that originate outside of the campus like economics, politics, artificial intelligence, and more. These factors, coupled with their personal responsibilities, make faculty susceptible to the stress that can lead to burnout.

This talk will provide a framework for preventing and reducing burnout and consistently keeping stress levels in a managed state by helping attendees:

  • Understand the difference between stress and burnout.
  • Grasp how widespread burnout is and its impact on individuals, teams, and organizations (e.g., universities).
  • Learn how to better establish and build up burnout resistance.

Follow-up strategies will be provided.
