Ask-a-Leader

Ask a LeaderThe Ask-a-Leader reunion will be held on March 7, 2013 from 5:00-6:30 in the Gateway Center Board Room (308). The program allows our Leadership Fellows, a distinguished group of opinion leaders and decision makers, to share best practices AND learn from the collective wisdom and experience.  Fellows should rsvp today by contacting Joanna.hussey@unt.edu.

Since its inception in 2008, the UNT Leadership Fellows group has grown to 30 leaders strong. Current chairs, interim chairs, and other faculty members who show interest and demonstrate leadership potential are eligible to apply.  Candidates are selected based on their record of scholarship, significant university service and/or strong leadership potential.

Throughout the year, fellows engage in informal meetings with key senior-level administrators; attend a Board of Regents meeting; participate in professional conferences; and engage in other relevant on-campus programming. This year, we are pleased to welcome the following individuals to the growing list of leaders on our campus:

  • Benjamin Brand, Associate Director of Graduate Studies, College of Music
  • Barrett Bryant, Chair, Computer Science and Engineering
  • Carol Anne Costablie-Heming, Chair, World Languages, Literatures, and Cultures
  • Su Gao, Chair, Mathematics
  • Julie Glass, Director, Core Academy; Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies
  • Frank Heidlberger, Chair, Music Theory, History, and Ethnomusicology
  • Shailesh Kulkarni, Associate Professor, Information Technology & Decision Sciences
