Students eligible to enroll in dual credit courses must:
- attend a participating school or school district,
- have outstanding academic performance,
- obtain approval from their high school counselor, and
- demonstrate college readiness in reading, writing and math through an approved assessment.
A list of assessments and the minimum scores required to demonstrate college readiness can be found on UNT's Texas Success Initiative website.
Dual credit students not meeting the college readiness requirement with a STAAR/EOC, PSAT, SAT or ACT exam score may take the Texas Success Initiative Assessment 2 (TSIA2). UNT administers the TSIA2 at the testing center in Denton or virtually through remote proctoring. Contact the UNT Testing Center for more information or to schedule an appointment.
