Change Foundation Area – a Core course can be changed from one Foundation Area to another by completing the Change in Existing Core course Structure form in Curriculog.
Change Assessment Method – a Core Course assessment method can be changed from individual to communal or communal to individual by completing the Change in Existing Core course Structure form in Curriculog.
Change in existing Core course – Changes such as title, description, etc can be made by submitting the Change in Existing Course form in Curriculog.
Removal of a Course from the Core – A request to remove a course from the Core can be made by submitting the Removal of Course from Core Curriculum form in Curriculog.
Information Item – If a sweeping change is requested by the provost, requiring Core course general reporting, the Core Information Item form is used.
Change a non-core course to a core course – enter information required in curriculog, describing how the course will not attend to the expectations of the THECB foundation component area and attendant objectives. A signature assignment for each objective is required, as well as an assessment plan, unless the assessment is being done using the communal scoring process.
Timing for changes
Timing varies based on the number of approvals that are required. The number of approvals by form are:
*Addition to the Core – 11
*Change in structure – 5
*Change in Existing Course – 8
Removal from the Core – 6
Information item – 3
* One step in each of these types of changes is a step that requires 8/10 OCCC volunteer faculty members to approve before it moves to the OCCC chair for approval.
