Did you know that UNT has an extensive mentoring program for new full-time faculty?
Research has indicated that high-quality mentoring can help early career faculty be productive and achieve greater degrees of job and personal satisfaction. At UNT, each new faculty member is paired with a senior colleague from within his or her unit. In addition, each new faculty member is part of an inter-disciplinary team made up of 10 to 12 new faculty members from units across campus. Each of these teams has three senior faculty mentors. Cross-disciplinary teams are intended to foster an environment of collaboration, to help our newest colleagues gain a sense of the broader campus culture, and to provide a safe venue for the sharing of challenges and opportunities. If you would be interested in serving as a mentor, or if you would like to know more about mentoring programs at UNT, please contact the.
