La Colectiva

Originally a network for Latina faculty, La Colectiva now includes women faculty of color, as well as allies. Its purpose is to support women holistically emphasizing tenure and promotion, research, and teaching. A central part of La Colectiva involves collective mentoring that draws on the experiences and wisdom of women of color scholars. La Colectiva sponsors public lectures intended to inform the broader community and supports the efforts of other mentoring groups and departments on campus.

La Colectiva’s mentoring model is discussed in a book chapter in the recently published edited volume Counternarratives from Women of Color Academics: Bravery, Vulnerability, Resistance.
