Freshman Students

UNT has a variety of programs and services for first year students to help you transition to college life.

Now that you are in college, you will find that your experiences will be different than they were in high school. In university, YOU are responsible for your education – taking notes, keeping up with your assignments, communicating with your professors, and attending class. The academic advisors and counselors at UNT want to help guide you along the way with your major and degree planning.

Orientation

 To welcome new students and prepare you for college, all freshman are required to attend an orientation prior to attending classes at UNT. Freshman Orientation is created to give you an opportunity to learn more about programs and services available to students. You will not only get to meet with your academic advisor, you will also have the ability to interact with Orientation Leaders and potential classmates. First Flight

First Flight logoFirst Flight is our fall semester week-long kick-off event for new students, including programs from services around campus. See the schedule of events for details. The Office of Orientation and Transition Programs offers programs such as Eagle Camp and the Mean Green Connection Dinner.  Visit their Freshman Programs website for details.  Additionally programs are all year long through Housing, and the College or School of your major.
